Professor Adrian R. Lewis
Biography
Professor Adrian R. Lewis is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, has a MA from University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
He served for 20 years in the U.S. Army, and previously taught for the Naval War College, University of California Berkeley and West Point.
He is currently the David B. Pittaway Professor of Military History at the University of Kansas, teaching courses on World War II, the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the War in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Bush’s Global War on Terrorism.
In addition to authoring The American Culture of War: A History of American Military Force from World War II to the Global War on Terrorism, Maj. Lewis has been published a number of times in cornerstone collections and prestigious journals. He is also a member of the Journal of Military History Editorial Advisory Board.
