Biography
Ted Strickland is the former Governor of Ohio (2007 - 2011). He currently advocates for public policies that promote social and economic justice at home.
Strickland has a B.A. degree in History, a Master of Divinity degree, and a Ph.D. in Psychology.
In 1992 Strickland was elected to U.S. Congress where he remained for twelve years, serving on the Commerce Committee’s health care subcommittee and oversight subcommittee. He also served on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, where he advocated strongly for veteran’s health care and benefits.
In 2006 he left Congress to run successfully for Governor of Ohio.
After leaving public office in 2011, Strickland became a fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University and served as an alternate delegate to the United Nations General Assembly. He was also a fellow at Harvard’s Chan School of Public Health and served as CEO of the American Center for Progress Action Fund.
He continues to advocate for public policies that promote social and economic justice at home and American values worldwide.
