“Along with further defining the illegality, substance and horror of its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, Israel’s bombardment of northern Gaza demonstrates just how ineffective its military operations have been.
Nine months into its apparent ethnic cleansing campaign, Israel seems, at a minimum, months away from ending its war, and even then, it will not have won any victory in suppressing the Palestinian people’s resistance to occupation.
The Israelis know this, which shows how their goals have always been political, not military or security. The goal has been ethnic cleansing, and if that is not possible, then collective punishment of the Palestinians serves their interests.
The Israeli government’s purposes have not been the safety or security of the Israeli people, it’s been about conquest, revenge and hate.
With The Lancet reporting a conservative estimate of deaths in Gaza of 186,000 Palestinians and Israeli magazine +972 documenting Israel’s “kill anything that moves” policy, the clarity on what is occurring in Gaza is only surpassed by the inaction of world governments to stop it.”
