“The lawlessness of Israel’s wartime actions demonstrates a U.S. complicity that is further highlighted by deliberate U.S. diplomatic malpractice. The United States’ supply of weapons and munitions to enable Israel to carry out its ethnic cleansing campaign in Gaza is a violation of U.S. and international laws.
The audacious claims by American officials that the U.S. is doing everything it can to ensure Israel follows international law and that Palestinian civilians are protected is as insulting as it is mendacious. The strategic folly of enabling Israel to carry out the organized murder of an entire population through both military force and denial of food, fuel, water and medicines will have consequences through a strengthened, and likely more extreme, resistance to Israeli occupation by Palestinians and increased regional instability.
However, the consequences extend to world opinion. U.S. double standards and hypocrisy regarding international law combined with U.S. officials’ absurd claims to be trying to protect civilians while providing the bombs to kill them project the U.S. government as psychopathic and dangerous. Decades of continual American war-making and punitive unilateral sanctions, along with a seeming policy of deliberate diplomatic malpractice, are causing nations to urgently seek ways to avoid, escape and undermine U.S. hegemony.
The dangers of unconditional support to Israel include complicity in potential genocide and ethnic cleansing but also extend to further weakening and exacerbating America’s position in the world.”
