Col. Gregory A. Daddis will be participating in the upcoming events:

September 14th: Daddis will be speaking at the 2022 California Judges Association Annual Meeting. The topic is “Proportionality in War: Military ‘Necessity’ and the Laws of War” and will discuss how we define what is a “militarily necessity” in relation to the suffering of civilian populations.

October 6th: Daddis will be presenting the 2022 “Harmon Memorial Lecture” at the US Air Force Academy. Daddis’ presentation is “Facing Frustration and Failure – The American Military Leadership Experience in Vietnam” and will highlight how US strategy in Vietnam failed to match ends to means or to consider local realities upon which success and failure depended.

October 21st: Daddis will be the keynote speaker for the Army Historical Foundation’s fall symposium focused on the Vietnam War, held at Fort Belvoir.

As directors Ken Burns and Lynn Novick tried to demonstrate in their epic ten-part documentary The Vietnam War, “There is no single truth in war.”
