President Trump should be congratulated and supported for his statements calling for an end to the Ukraine-Russia war, his suggestion to cut Pentagon spending dramatically, and his understanding of the urgent need to eliminate nuclear weapons. Speaking directly to his counterparts to end and avoid war, as President Trump is doing, is in keeping with the greatest of the American presidents of the post-WWII era: Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy. The contrast to President Trump’s predecessor is clear.
Most of this country’s foreign policy and military elite will be lining up to denounce President Trump’s intentions. However, the Eisenhower Media Network will offer support and encourage President Trump’s efforts.
The wars overseas must come to an end. Massive and wasteful Pentagon spending must be cut and invested into education, infrastructure, healthcare, jobs, and the environment. The dangers of nuclear weapons are clear and the US must lead efforts to end the threat of nuclear war through mutual disarmament. These ideas are only controversial to those dependent upon the infrastructure and profit of war and military spending, and those who have failed to understand the tragedy, failures, and realities of America’s wars in the modern era.
Regardless of President Trump’s other policies, statements and intentions, his efforts to end current wars and avoid future wars should be embraced and supported.
